The Ghana Premier League matchday 21 fixture between Kumasi King Faisal and Berekum Chelsea, originally scheduled to be staged at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, has been postponed.
The decision comes after the Ghana Football Association (GFA) confirmed that the ground will host the first leg of the World Cup playoff tie between Ghana and Nigeria on Friday, March 25, 2022.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Wednesday granted Ghana the permit to use the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for the upcoming 2022 World Cup playoff first leg against Nigeria after the host had offered to move the game to Kumasi after a visit by a CAF Licensing Inspection team.
It becomes necessary following the rejection of the initial chosen Cape Coast stadium due to low quality standard of the pitch.
This means the game between Kumasi King Faisal and Berekum Chelsea Chelsea will now take place on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at 3:00pm at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
