Communication Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum has refuted claims by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police Service indicating that no investigations has been done on the alleged match fixing scandal involving Obuasi AshantiGold and Inter Allies.
The infamous game ended 7-0 in favour of AshantiGold at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium where Hashmin Musah of Inter Allies scored a two quick own goals after coming off the bench.
The GFA who promised to fish out the perpetrators involved in the act and punish them before the current 2021/22 season kick started thus charged the two teams on the counts of misconduct for match manipulations.
They again noted in a presser that a formal complaint was lunched to the Ghana Police Service where investigations continues to unravel the culprits. But nothing has been heard on the matter in almost a year with some Ghanaians questioning the outcome of the matter.
However, the CID Boss, COP Ken Yeboah, opined that no investigation has been carried out by his outfit, citing failure on the part of the FA to lodge official complaint after reporting the matter verbally to the CID Headquarters in Accra.
Responding to the claims, Mr. Twum Asante described the CID Boss remarks as untrue saying the FA has gathered enough findings on the alleged match fixing scandal involving Obuasi Ashanti Gold and Inter Allies during the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League Season.
“It’s not true that we didn’t go back to the police again and with this, I’m speaking based on evidence. There are two publications on our visits”
