Angelonline.com.gh can confirm that the 2022 coach of the year, Prosper Nartey Ogum has left his role as Head Coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
This comes after the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League winner tendered his resignation letter to the club to formally part ways with the Ghanaian champions.
Prosper Nartey Ogum on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, decided to resign from the Kumasi-based club following an emergency meeting with the club management and Board of Directors via zoom.
Meanwhile, management and board members of the team in a series of engagements and consultations embarked on some steps to convince the coach to rescind his decision and stay with the club but all efforts failed to materialize.
That notwithstanding after a back and forth for almost a month, Prosper Ogum on Monday, August 15, 2022, delivered his formal resignation to Kumasi Asante Kotoko making him a former coach to the side.
Moments after his resignation, the former West African Football Academy (WAFA) tactician took to his official Twitter page to update his profile with the changes “Former Head Coach Asante Kotoko. Sports psychologist, Educationist, and Lecturer at University of Cape Coast.”
It is further reported that salary arrears owed Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum in addition to some bonuses for helping the club win the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League title will be paid to him.
The reds are expected to name a new coach before the end of this week, with former Burkina Faso coach Kamou Malo tipped to be Ogum’s successor.
