The immediate past Minister of Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Sarah Adwoa Safo has expressed gratitude to President Akufo-Addo for the opportunity and trust reposted in her during her term in office as the Gender Minister.

Sarah Adwoa Safo was in July 2022, dismissed in accordance with article 81 (a) of the constitution as the Minister of Gender, Children, and Social Protection following her long absence from parliament and the Ministry.

President Akufo-Addo replaced her with the appointment of the Member of Parliament (MP) for Walewale, Lariba Zuweira Abudu, as the Minister-designate.

The Dome Kwabenya Member of Parliament in a letter copied to the presidency said “I acknowledge your letter dated 28h July 2022 and would like to express my gratitude for the opportunity to serve as Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection.”

“It is with profound gratitude that expresses utmost appreciation to you for the opportunity to serve as Minister in both terms of your government. It was an honour to serve at this all-important Ministry albeit for a short time,” the MP said in her letter.

The Lawmaker said she on Friday, 29 July 2022, handed over all official assets to the Administrator of the Ministry.

The former wife of Kennedy Agyapong was also thankful to the President for rallying behind her in the most difficult times when all odds were against her.

“I am exceedingly grateful for your Understanding, Compassion, and unending Devotion throughout this past year, especially during a very difficult period for me where I have had to be away from office. Your kind support has been very much welcome and for that, I remain eternally grateful,” Adwoa Safo thanked.

According to Sarah Adwoa Safo, she is now going to devote all of her time to working as MP for the people of Dome Kwabenya to help the New Patriotic Party (NPP) achieve its aim to break the eight.
“Cognizant of my duties to the 75,000 constituents who elected me, this development is opportune and will afford me more time to concentrate on my Parliamentary responsibilities and Constituency engagements as well as consolidate the gains we have made as a govemment at the Constituency level in our quest to break the eight.”
