All is set for the 2023 National Delegates Conference of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) which will see the election of a flagbearer for the party for the 2024 elections.
Delegates from across the length and breadth of country will troop to designated voting centres in the country to cast votes for their preferred candidates.
Four persons – Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, Afriyie Akoto and Francis Addai-Nimoh – qualified from the super delegates conference which was held about a month ago and will be contesting Saturday’s polls.
Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Ohene Agyapong are currently the fore runners in the race which promises to be a heated one.
Ahead of the showdown, Angelonline.com.gh presents below a breakdown of the 208,261 delegates who will be going to the polls to elect the next leader of the NPP.
Out of the total number, only 839Â of the delegates belong to the what can be considered as the Upper Class (Ministers/Deputy Ministers, Patrons and Council of Elders, Foundation Members, National Council, Regional Officers and MPs/MMDCEs).
3365 delegates also belong to the TESCON, Overseas branches, Constiteuncy Patrons and Constituency Council of Elders while 199,382 also belong to the Electoral Areas and Polling station executives group.
These delegates will decide the fate of the four persons seeking to lead the NPP into the 2024 elections.
