The Central Regional Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has raised concerns about the activities of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) executives in the Afutu Constituency.
According to Gabriella Tetteh, the NPP executives have transformed the Electoral Commission’s registration center into what resembles a ‘prayer camp.’
Speaking on the Angel Morning Show on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, regarding the ongoing voter transfer exercise in the Central Region, Gabriella Tetteh stated that, while most areas are experiencing smooth operations, issues have arisen in Awutu Senya East and the Afutu Constituencies.
In Afutu, Gabriella revealed, the NPP executives have set up makeshift shelters and are staying at the EC’s premises around the clock.
“One problem we have in Afutu Constituency is that NPP executives have turned the EC registration center into a prayer camp. They have provided tents for themselves and sleep there day and night,” she said.
She highlighted another pressing issue of transportation of voters from different communities into the Afutu Constituency.
“Bussing of voters into the constituency by the NPP has become normal for them and they are just doing it with ease. We, the NDC in the region demand tangible reasons why they are transferring their votes to the constituency,” Tetteh added.
