President John Mahama has returned home from a one-day working visit to Abuja, Nigeria, where he held discussions with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Mr. Mahama noted that the visit was an opportunity to discuss issues aimed at bringing transformation to ECOWAS through collaboration.

“We also discussed enhancing ECOWAS to achieve greater economic integration and cooperation,” a post on the President’s social media reads.
He also emphasized their discussion on the necessity of strengthening subregional collaboration to combat terrorism and violent extremism that threaten peace.
According to him, he seized the opportunity to brief his fellow statesman, as Chair of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State, on his engagements with the leaders of Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso.
Mr. Mahama further thanked President Tinubu for attending his inauguration as the Special Guest of Honour in January 2025.
