Accra Hearts of Oak recorded a narrow 1-0 win over Kpando Heart of Lions on Wednesday evening to kick off their 2025 GHALCA Top 4 campaign.
The match played at the University of Ghana Stadium, started with early glimpses from both sides but they failed to made immediate impact.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 38th minute when Ebenezer Abban inadvertently deflected Ransford Mensah’s pinpoint free-kick into his own net, giving Hearts the lead.
Earlier before, reigning league champions Bibiani Gold Stars defeated Kumasi Asante Kotoko by 2-1.
The Phobians now turn their attention to a clash with Bibiani Gold Stars on Friday, August 22, while Heart of Lions gear up to face Asante Kotoko in their next outing.
