Dancehall artist Shatta Wale, known offstage as Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., was detained overnight by the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) in connection with an investigation into tax obligations surrounding the purchase of a Lamborghini.
According to an official statement released by his management on Tuesday night via Sammy Baah Flex’s X account, the artist voluntarily presented himself at EOCO’s offices earlier in the day, accompanied by his lawyer, Cephas Biyuo, to assist with the inquiry.
Management assured fans and the general public that Shatta Wale’s legal team is actively engaged with the authorities and is taking all necessary steps to secure his release as soon as possible.
“We urge the SM Family and all well-wishers to remain calm and avoid any speculation. We have the utmost confidence in the judicial process,” the statement said, urging to refrain from speculation.
The statement further indicated that both management and legal representatives will return to EOCO today to continue discussions.
