A police officer stationed at Duayaw Nkwanta in the Ahafo Region has reportedly died in what is suspected to be suicide.
The officer, identified as Sergeant Brown, was said to have taken his own life while on duty at the charge office of the Duayaw Nkwanta Police Station.
According to sources, the incident happened on Friday, September 5, 2025, when he allegedly shot himself with a service weapon.
A gun believed to have been in his possession was found beside him at the said office, heightening suspicion of suicide.
According to sources, Sergeant Brown had served with the Duayaw Nkwanta Police Command for nearly ten years before his sudden death.
Police are yet to officially comment on the matter as investigations continue to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
His body has been deposited at the Saint John of God Hospital morgue at Duayaw Nkwanta for preservation and further examination.
