The government has lifted the curfew imposed on Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Township and its environs in the Savannah Region with immediate effect.
A statement signed by the Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, said the decision was taken on the advice of the Savannah Regional Security Council and by Executive Instrument, following the restoration of peace and security in the area.
The government has, however, urged Chiefs, Opinion Leaders, youth, and residents of the township to continue exercising “restraint in the face of challenges confronting them.”
The statement further encouraged the people to adopt non-violent means in channeling their energies toward sustaining peace in the community.
The lifting of the curfew, takes effect from Monday, December 8, 2025, the statement added.
