Ghanaian international Andre Dede Ayew has ruled out any possibility of retiring from active football anytime soon.
He hinted that his body is still responding positively to the demands of the game.
“I live my life day to day. I don’t think about that [retirement]. I think when the time comes, your body will tell you.
“For now my body is not responding negatively at all, so I need to continue working,” he told ESPN in a recent interview.
According to the NAC Breda midfielder, he remains focused on continuing his career and is not entertaining thoughts of hanging up his boots.
The former Olympique Marseille and West Ham United player recently joined NAC Breda after being clubless following his departure from French Ligue 1 side Le Havre.
Mr. Ayew disclosed that his six months without a club were not due to footballing reasons but rather personal matters he needed to resolve.
“The six months that I was inactive wasn’t due to football reasons. It was for personal reasons that I had to deal with, clear my mind, and come back to be on top of my game mentally and physically,” he said.
He has also played for Swansea City, Fenerbahce, Al Sadd, Nottingham Forest, and Lorient.
