The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has categorically denied reports suggesting that it donated €12 million to the Black Stars while neglecting cocoa farmers.
COCOBOD described the claim as “false, misleading, and without any factual basis.”
In a public notice, the Board emphasised that at no point have funds meant for farmer payments been diverted to support the national football team.
“We urge the public to disregard this misinformation and rely solely on official COCOBOD communication channels for accurate and verified information,” It said.
The Board reiterated its commitment to prioritising the welfare of cocoa farmers, including the prompt payments for cocoa purchases, provision of inputs, extension services, and sustained investment in the sector.
