President John Dramani Mahama has announced extension of the visa waiver agreement between Ghana and St. Kitts and Nevis, which will benefit holders of ordinary passports.
The announcement was made during a luncheon held in honour of Prime Minister Terance Micheal Drew and his delegation on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
President Mahama noted that Ghana remains ready to collaborate with Saint Kitts and Nevis to strengthen social protection systems and advance areas of mutual benefit.
“Ghana stands ready to collaborate on areas of mutual benefit, sharing experiences and technical cooperation that support your national development agenda.
“I’m pleased to announce that Ghana and St. Kitts and Navvice have agreed to extend our 2018 visa waiver agreement.
“This was previously applicable to holders of only diplomatic and service passports. Now this extension of the visa waiver includes holders of ordinary passports,” the President noted.
While ensuring a mutually beneficial framework, President Mahama emphasized that the labor mobility arrangement between the two countries to provide skilled professionals.
“Ghana is prepared, where appropriate, to support St. Kitts and Navvice with skilled professionals including nurses, teachers, and other technical experts, while ensuring mutually beneficial frameworks between our countries,” he mentioned.
