The Ghana Education Service (GES) has extended its best wishes to all students preparing for the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), scheduled from August 4 to September 19.
In a statement issued on July 25, GES applauded candidates for their resilience and academic commitment, urging them to approach the exams with integrity and focus.
“Success achieved through honesty and hard work is the most fulfilling and sustainable. Do not allow yourself to be lured into any form of examination malpractice,” the statement advised.
To reinforce examination credibility, the GES Council has authorized stringent disciplinary action against staff and candidates found culpable of malpractice.
Teaching and non-teaching staff, invigilators, or supervisors involved in such infractions will face dismissal. Students will also face severe sanctions.
The Service emphasized that acts of collusion, exam material leakage, and aiding candidates compromise the fairness of the assessment process and will not be tolerated.
These measures, it said form part of a broader initiative to protect the integrity of the WASSCE and Ghana’s education system.
GES reminded examination personnel of their critical role and the trust placed in them, encouraging strict professionalism and ethical conduct throughout the period.
In that regard, Regional and District Directors have been directed to communicate and enforce these measures across all centres.
“Any act of aiding candidates or compromise of examination procedures will attract dismissal from the Service,” the statement warned.
GES concluded with a message of encouragement: “Best of luck to all our WASSCE candidates. Ghana is proud of you.”
