Ghanaian award-winning singer Efya has officially tied the knot with her Nigerian musician partner, Tomi Thomas, in a colourful traditional marriage ceremony held in Accra on Friday, November 6, 2026.
The ceremony, which celebrated the union of the two musicians, attracted several prominent personalities from Ghana’s entertainment industry, politics and fashion circles.
Among the notable personalities who attended were Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, actresses Nana Ama McBrown, Fella Makafui and Lydia Forson, musicians Becca, Sister Derby and Fantana, and socialites Hajia4Reall and Efia Odo.
Other familiar faces spotted at the ceremony included actress Salma Mumin, National Film Authority Chief Executive Officer Kafui Danku, fashion duo Lali and Lola, R2Bees member Mugeez and music producer Killbeatz.
The celebrity guests turned the occasion into a glamorous gathering, with several of them making fashion statements in colourful traditional outfits.
Kente fabrics, gold accessories and elaborate traditional ensembles dominated the celebration, complementing the event’s orange, brown, cream and gold-themed decorations.
Efya, known privately as Jane Awindor, looked radiant in a beautifully designed Kente outfit, while her husband also embraced Ghanaian traditional fashion in a richly woven Kente ensemble accessorised with gold.
Actresses Fella Makafui and Hajia4Reall were among the personalities who served as bridesmaids for the singer.
One of the emotional highlights of the occasion was the arrival of Efya’s mother, veteran broadcaster Nana Adwoa Awindor, who appeared visibly emotional as she made her entrance with the Tourism Minister.
Videos from the ceremony shared on social media also captured the groom explaining his decision to marry the singer.
In one of the videos, Tomi Thomas said: “I sent my parents with the marriage items because I want Efya as my wife.”
The traditional marriage follows a knocking ceremony held by the families on February 14, 2026, which initially generated speculation about the couple’s marital status.
Efya and Tomi Thomas are expected to hold their white wedding on Saturday, November 7, 2026, in Accra, with more family members, friends and entertainment personalities expected to join the celebrations.
