President Nana Akufo-Addo and his cabinet ministers held their first meeting, albeit virtual, since the president went on self-isolation a little over week ago.
The president has been on self-isolation since July 4 after an unnamed member within his “close circle” tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic.
Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah informed Ghanaians the president’s decision was a precautionary measure.
Some of his ministers and appointees have already tested positive. At least two of them have died after contracting the virus.
Nana Akufo-Addo has been working from the Presidential Villa ever since he went on self-isolation.
This has yet to have any negative effect on cabinet meetings.
“On Tuesday, 14th July, 2020, I chaired the 80th Cabinet Meeting of my Government from the Presidential Villa in Jubilee House. The meeting is being held virtually,” President Akufo-Addo shared on Facebook with pictures.
