The Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Central Regional Police Command, Irene Oppong, says reports that two drivers who were in the convoy of the late Member of Parliament (MP) for Mfantseman, Ekow Quansah Hayford before his killing have also died, are false.
“The two drivers of the late MP are alive and in a stable condition at the hospital,” she told host of Angel FM’s ‘Anɔpa Bɔfoɔ’ morning show, Captain Smart on Monday, October 12, 2020.
This follows earlier reports indicating that the driver of the Mfantseman MP died while on admission at a hospital after sustaining several gunshots from a robbery attack on him and the MP.
According to Irene Oppong, aside the demise of the MP, none of the members in his [Ekow Quansah Hayford] entourage has died. She said persons- six males and a female- are receiving treatment after sustaining several injuries from the gunshots.
She also affirmed IGP, James Oppong-Boanuh’s reward of GHȻ20, 000 for relevant information that will lead to the arrest of perpetrators in the killing of the MP adding that, the homicide and anti-robbery units of the Police Service, have also offered their assistance in the investigation process. The late Ekow Quansah Hayford
