Board Member of Ghana premier league giants, Accra Hearts of Oak, Alhaji Akambi has expressed his delight over the successful surgery on star midfielder Daniel Kodie.
The former Liberty Professionals talisman spent almost eight hours in a hospital in South Africa to repair his long overdue injury on his right leg.
Following this, the board member who accompanied the player on the trip says he feels impressed with the surgery process.
Speaking to Accra base Angel FM’s floodlight sports, Alhaji Akambi, explained the operative process the midfielder went through, and hesitated not to verbalize his joy on the whole process.
“He went to the theater at 9am and came back after 4pm and was discharged the same day. We will be going for review next week before we return to Ghana. I was impressed with the surgery” he told Saddick Adams [Sports Obama]
However, when asked by the host, [Saddick Adams] with the possible effects on the player following the operative process, he responded; “Staying at home for long will not affect Kodie because the doctors in Ghana did a good job on the boy, so there will be no complications”.
Alhaji Akambi, thereafter set the record straight by indicating that bankroller and team owner of the rainbow club, Togbe Afede is carrying the cost of the entire surgery.
“Hearts of oak is Togbe and Togbe is Hearts of oak, the cost of Daniel Kordie’s surgery is on Togbe Afede no doubt about that” he affirmed.
Daniel Kodei who joined the phobians from Dansoman base Liberty Professionals three seasons ago picked an injury against Karela United in the special NC tournament two years ago and had since not kicked a ball.
