Representative of the people of Shai-Osudoku Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Linda Akweley Obenewaa Ocloo, has advised her constituents and the general public to disregard a Facebook account set up in her name.
According to the legislator, some imposters have used her name, picture and other details to create a Facebook account with which they dupe people in the name of offering them non-existent jobs.
Linda Ocloo in a disclaimer sighted by Angelonline.com.gh on her official Facebook account, dissociated herself from the fraudulent act indicating that the said account is fake.
The disclaimer follows a Facebook post in which a conversation was held with her name asking people for money in return for jobs.
“I, Hon Linda Akweley Obenewaa Ocloo, MP for Shai-Osudoku Constituency will like to bring to the attention of the general public the activities of some unscrupulous people who have created a fake Facebook account and using same to defraud people.
May I state emphatically that, my Facebook account bears the name Linda Ocloo and my Facebook page bears the name Hon. Linda Akweley Obenewaa Ocloo. All other accounts bearing my name and pictures are fake” she stated.
Withal, the Lawmaker noted that she had not and would never engage herself in such behavior on social media let alone ask people to pay any sum of money before securing them jobs.
“I have not and will not engage anyone on social media to offer them job. Anyone who I want to help or needs my help should come to my office in Parliament or Dodowa to engage with me personally.
“I have not, will not, and will never charge anyone to pay any money to any of my assigns or whatever, to facilitate in getting them jobs or whichever help,” her statement added.
With regards, Linda Ocloo urged all and sundry not to hesitate to reach her office at Dodowa whenever they suspect any foul play in her name as MP.
She however concluded by adding that the case has been reported to the appropriate quarters and Facebook for investigations and immediate actions.
