Sports journalist, Saddick Adams, together with District Chief Executive for Amansie South, Clement Opoku Gyamfi, have handed over a fully operational mechanised borehole to their alma mater to end their difficulties in accessing potable water for use on campus.

The commissioning of two mechanized boreholes for Asanteman Senior High School (Asass) specifically, the Girls Dormitory and the donation of some items including dustbins and hundreds of buckets was done on September, 29, 2021 at the school premises.

According to the pair, the commissioning towards addressing the aged-long water challenges confronting the school was to commemorate their birthday celebrations in the month of September.

Similarly, the plastic waste bins will help end sanitation-related challenges being faced by the school, which they believe would help enhance learning and teaching activities on campus for students and teachers.

According to Mr. Adams, affectionately called ‘sports Obama’, the move was well planned in collaboration with his mate, Clement Opoku, a member of the 2006 year group of Asanteman Senior High School after realizing how dire the water problem was when taps are closed.

“Couple of months ago, there was a news report about my alma mater, Asanteman Senior High School. Students in the boarding house usually had water shortages especially when Ghana water stops flowing through taps. This really affected the Girls Hostel. Someone tagged me knowing I was an old student”

“I discussed this with my brother, Hon Clement Opoku Gyamfi also known as CID, with whom I was in the school and members of the 2006 Year Group”

“We both felt embarrassed by the news. But then we vowed to save parts of our monthly earnings up until when it’s enough to construct two mechanized boreholes. We planned to do this to mark our birthdays which fall in September. It wouldn’t take long to realize this”, the Head of Sports for Accra base Angel FM stated.

Moreover, the media practitioner noted that it comes as a pleasure to warmed the heart of the Asass family, fondly called ‘Nananom’ for contributing to their success.l today.

“We are proud to have partly given back to and solved a problem of a society and of a community that greatly impacted on us. God bless all Nananom!”, Saddick Adams expressed with joy.

Headmaster of the Asanteman SHS, Mr. Nathaniel Antwi Asamoah while underscoring the need for water for humanity, thanked the Angel FM journalist, Saddick Adams  and the DCE, Clement Opoku Gyamfi for their gesture and asked for more in other areas to improve upon the school’s development.
