Two persons allegedly involved in robbery and kidnapping acts, have been killed by Police officers at Yeji in the Pru East District of the Bono East Region.
The two, Ali Ruga alias Ali Muguyaro and Issaka Abubakar alias Kuridor, were shot by a special Anti-Robbery unit from the Bono East Regional Police Command following an intelligence-led operation on a criminal syndicate at Yeji on Monday December 20, 2021.
According to the Police in a statement, the two were part of a kidnapping syndicate operating in the Yeji municipality.
The communique signed by the Director of Public Affairs at the Ghana Police Service, ACP Kwesi Ofori noted that a single barrel shotgun with two live “BB” cartridges, three mobile phones and a talisma were retrieved at their hideout at Konkoba a suburb of Yeji.
The police administration commended the efforts of the Bono East Regional Police Command and the Anti-Robbery team for their brave and speedy investigation.
