Ghana Premier League side, AshantiGold were attacked by robbers while returning to Obuasi on Sunday night, after their Ghana Premier League tie with Accra Hearts of Oak in Accra.
The incident is said to have occurred at Assin Endwa, in the Assin North District at a section of the road that links Assin Fosu and Kumasi.
“We got attacked by armed robbers on our way back from Accra at Assin Endwa.
“The robbers shot three bullets at the front bulletproof glass as the team driver meandered his way through a terrible scene of gunshots,” the Club announced on its Twitter page.

The Club added: “Thankfully, no individual sustained any injuries. The entire team is currently safe in Obuasi.”

A Daniel Afriyie Barnieh brace was enough to give Accra Hearts of Oak a 2-1 home win over the Obuasi-based side.
