The Kasoa District Police Command has in their custody two notorious criminals believed to be Nigerian nationals for allegedly defrauding a Mobile Money (MoMo) merchant at the Kasoa New Market in the Central Region.
The suspects whose two other accomplices are on the run reportedly defrauded the victim of an amount worth GHS1000.
According to Angel FM’s reporter, Opanyin Darko, one of the suspects who were on board a black Toyota Camry with the registration number GC 9123-21, approached the mobile money merchant under the pretext of depositing the said amount.
A moment after the merchant had completed the transaction process and requested the physical cash, the suspects quickly drove away with others escaping on foot.
To save the situation, the merchant hired a motorbike and chased them which led to the arrest of the two suspects upon reaching a section of the Kasoa footbridge. Meanwhile, the other suspects fled to their hideout.
They were thus handed to the Kasoa District Police Command where they are currently in police custody assisting investigations.
