The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has warned the general public that they are not recruiting new applicants currently into the service.
According to the GNFS, the public notice has become necessary following circulation on social media and the public space claiming the service is hiring personnel.
The Service indicated that it has “completed the 2021/22 General Recruitment Exercise and successful candidates are being trained in batches at the Fire Academy and Training Schools (FATS).”
Therefore, the general public is urged to disregard “such rumors and publications circulating in the public domain,” regarding recruitment into the service.
“Management of the service wants to it clear to the general public that anyone who pays any money to any group of persons or to any individual for the purpose of a recruitment opportunity into the service does so at his/her own risk.
“Anyone purporting to be recruiting for the GNFS must be reported to the Ghana Police for prompt action,” a portion of the statement warned.
The GNFS also encouraged the public to follow the service on “any of its official social media handles or contact its Public Relations Department for information on recruitment into the service or any further inquiries.
