The Ghana Police Service has commenced investigations into alleged money doubling scam allegedly perpetrated against some members of the Heaven Way Church in Weija, by its founder Patricia Asiedua.
Patricia Asiedua, popularly called Nana Agradaa is believed to have taken money from church members with the promise of doubling it for them last Friday but failed to honour her part of the deal after receiving the money.
According to the Police, the investigation was initiated after some members reported the issue and drew their attention to the matter.
In a statement, they said “the investigation was initiated following reports that have come to the attention of the Police on the matter.”

The statement further encouraged ” anyone with information that can assist the investigation to report to the Accra Regional Police Command at Accra Central close to the COCOBOD building.”
“While investigation continues, we urge everyone, especially those who might have been affected to remain calm and not take the law into their own hands”, the Service advocated.
It is recalled that Nana Agradaa was arrested in the past for broadcasting contents on money-doubling on her two TV channels – Thunder TV and Ice1 TV – at Kasoa in the Central Region without licenses and contrary to section 137 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960.
She was subsequently slapped with a fine of GHS36,000 on the charge of operating a Television station without a licence.
