The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Akim Oda, Alexander Kwasi Acquah has revealed that there is strong agitation within the support base of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) against the leadership at various levels.
The reason, he said, stems from the belief that the Akufo-Addo-led government is believed to have executed more projects in the strongholds of the opposition, National Democratic Congress (NDC) than they have in their main strongholds.
Speaking on the Kokoase Segment of Angel Morning Show on Wednesday, the Law Maker said the rank and file of the party are at the neck of the party leadership to consider executing more projects in the NPP stronghold than that of the NDC.
“One problem we have been facing in our constituencies is that our supporters are even angry at us for executing more projects in NDC strongholds than we have in our main stronghods…,” he revealed to host, Katakyie Afrifa Mensah.
According to him, the Akufo-Addo government is facing this stiff opposition because of his belief that the country must be evenly developed and hence called on Ghanaians to exercise patient with the government.
“Governments have the responsibiliy of ensuring even development in all regions but it is disheartening to see a party like the NDC failing to continue projects started by NPP because it is not in their strongholds…,” he added.
The Akim Oda MP furhter explained that some projects seem abandoned because of the lack of funds to complete themon time.
