A disjointed Black Stars side suffered their second defeat in a roll when the US Men’s National Team (USMNT) humbled them 4-0 in an international friendly played at the GEODIS Park in Nashville on Wednesday dawn.
Ghana, having suffered a 2-0 defeat to Mexico three days ago were hopeful of overturning their fortunes against Christian Pulisic’s side however they failed to put pieces together.
Both teams entered the match with a strong desire to gain an advantage in their historical head-to-head record, with Ghana having secured two victories in four previous encounters, and the remaining one going in favor of the Americans.
Borussia Dortmund teenager, Giovanni Reyna scored twice to record his first international brace, while captain Christian Pulisic and forward Folarin Balogun added one apiece to cap off a strong team effort.
The four goals in a dominant first half were enough to complete a comprehensive 4-0 victory for the USA.
The win also marked Gregg Berhalter’s 40th as U.S. coach, becoming the fastest USMNT manager to achieve the feat.
The Black Stars struggled to gain momentum throughout the game as the United States dominated the entire match.
Coach Chris Hughton boys, in the second half, sought to salvage what they could, but they ultimately had no answer to the USA test.
