An aspiring Member of Parliament on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for Ablekuma Central Constituency, has pledged to change the leadership style of the area.
Mr Jefferson Kwamina Sackey, who is also the Deputy Director of Communication at the Office of the President, promised to rewrite the story of the area given the mandate to represent them in Parliament come 2024.
In an interview with Kojo Oppong Kyeremeh on the Angel Morning Show, Thursday, November 23, 2023, Mr. Sackey argues that the welfare structure of the constituency lacks the basic fundamentals.
This, he vows to put in place proper structures given the opportunity to oversee the welfare of the people because: “The welfare system in the constituency is basically next to nothing.”
He highlighted on some projects embarked on in the constituency and beyond, as well as his planned vision when elected as the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma Central.
“I committed an amount of GH¢10,000 to each electoral area for a welfare support programme, out of the seven electoral areas, we have funded four and looking forward to funding the remaining three,” he said.
He added that, with the Education Support System, he printed out several books and distributed them to schools in the constituency.
“Under this programme, I print several books and distribute them to schools in the constituency,” he added.
The MP hopeful, Jefferson Sackey further stated that, he had introduced the Jefferson Care Education Support Program rolled out for deceased polling station executives to help care for their children.
“This policy is rolled out for deceased polling station executive, it seeks to care for the deceased children through education from Daycare to Junior High School,” he stated.
