Management of the Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN) has expressed gratitude to its listeners and viewers, especially women who participated in the station’s breast cancer screening on Thursday, October 31, 2024.
The screening, held at the station’s forecourt, saw a massive turnout, with the event turning ‘pink’ as attendees dressed according to the colour code to mark the Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The event was part of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month observed in October to educate the public about the importance of early detection and support for those affected by the disease.
The programme included health screenings, offering attendees free breast examinations and consultations from healthcare professionals.
The screenings were conducted by trained medical personnel from Japan Medica Center, ensuring that participants received accurate information and support.
As part of the advocacy to combat the spread of breast cancer among young and older women, on-air personalities wore pink to demonstrate solidarity and support for victims of breast cancer.
Also, the occasion was honoured with fun and engaging activities including, a singing competition, and political debates among astute politicians from some parties in Ghana.
Some of these political party representatives include Joseph Ade-Coker, (Former Greater Accra Regional Chairman, National Democratic Congress), Clement Wilkinson (Municipal Chief Executive for Ga-West Municipal Assembly), and Nana Yaw Sarpong (Member, Movement for Change).
The event was graced with overwhelming personalities from diverse spheres of society including politicians, broadcast personalities, viewers, and community members.
A charity drive was also organized by Angel Broadcasting Network (A.B.N.) where individuals received relief items such as fabrics, washing soap, and soft beverages.
