The National Women’s Organizer for the incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Hanna Louisa Bisiw-Kotei, has highlighted the importance of President John Dramani Mahama’s Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Committee.
Dr. Bisiw emphasized the key objectives of the ORAL committee following its formation and noted that members of the opposition NPP party have begun acknowledging its significance.
Commenting on the five-member committee appointed by President Mahama as a platform for people to report suspected corruption cases, the NDC Women’s Organizer expressed her support for the initiative.
“With all due respect, I fully support the ORAL Committee. However, I will not personally submit documents for investigation, as it might be perceived as vindictive,” she told Saddick Adams, the host of the Angel Morning Show.
According to her, some key members of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) have already submitted documents to the ORAL team for investigation into certain individuals involved in the previous administration.
“Ghanaians who are not NDC members are willing to collaborate with the ORAL team. Even NPP members, including a former NPP Member of Parliament, have submitted documents,” she claimed.
Dr. Bisiw, who is also a former Member of Parliament for Tano South, stressed that there are other prominent NPP figures who are also ready to submit documents to ensure that corrupt officials are held accountable.
She further emphasized the need for the general public to support President Mahama’s efforts to combat corruption, warning that failing to do so might send the wrong message, implying that Ghanaians tolerate corrupt practices.
The Ayawaso West Wogoun bye-election shooting incidents, the 2020 election incidents, as well as the controversy surrounding the National Cathedral Project, are some of the cases she assured Ghanaians will be pursued.
