The newly sworn-in Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has been urged to run an administration free of unprofessionalism and corruption.
President John Dramani Mahama, who gave the admonition, also asked the minister to ensure transparency in the sector.
Speaking on Friday, February 7, 2025, at the swearing-in ceremony of 17 ministers at the Jubilee House, the President stated that the disorder in Ghanaian sports is generally unacceptable.
“The shambles that is Ghana football sports is completely unacceptable for a country with our pedigree.
…I expect that you concentrate on building up all sports disciplines,” the President urged.
Mr. Adams, the President believed, could properly manage the sector, ensuring that football and the sports fraternity at large return to their best.
“…And I know Ghana Football Association will be a good space to start work and return Black Stars to its glory days,” Mr. Mahama maintained.
