Brigadier-General Ashong Annan is new Commissioner of Customs

President John Dramani Mahama, has appointed Brigadier General Glover Ashong Annan as the new Commissioner of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).

Before his appointment, Brigadier General Annan served as the Presidential Security Coordinator, acording to a statement released on Sunday, March 23, 2025, and signed by the spokesperson to the president, Felix Kwakye Ofosu

Brigadier General Annan was appointed for this important position due to his dedication, respect, principles, and patriotism as a commissioned officer of the Ghana Armed Forces, it stated.

The statement indicated that Brigadier General Annan is expected to help reset the Customs Division and use his dedicated experience to support the GRA in meeting its targets as they work towards fixing Ghana’s economy.

“Brig. Gen. Annan is well respected, dedicated, principled, and a patriotic commissioned officer of the Ghana Army. He is expected to reset the Customs Division and support the Ghana Revenue Authority to meet its targets as we work towards fixing the economy,” it noted.

Meanwhile, President Mahama has also acknowledged immediate past Commissioner-General, Ziblim Bawah Ayorrogo, for his service to the Customs Division.
