MTN FA Cup holders, Asante Kotoko SC, will begin their 2025/26 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup campaign against Nigeria’s Kwara United in the first preliminary round, following Saturday’s draw.
This marks Kotoko’s first appearance in the league since 2022, with the Kumasi-based club aiming to make a strong impression on the continental stage one more time.
The Porcupine Worriors will host the first leg in Kumasi between September 19 and 21, before traveling to Nigeria for the return fixture from September 26 to 28.
The second preliminary round’s first leg is slated for October 17–19, with the decisive return fixture to be played between October 24 and 26, 2025.
Kwara United, are making the trip on the back of their maiden President’s Federation Cup triumph, clinched after a goalless draw and a 4-3 penalty shootout victory over Abakaliki FC.
Winner of the two-legged encounter will face Moroccan powerhouse Wydad Casablanca in the second preliminary round to enter the competition’s next stage.
