Former Black Stars midfielder Derrick Boateng has warned of potential doom for the team should Ghana invite English-based players with Ghanaian descent Callum Hudson-Odoi and Eddie Nketiah.
According to him, the inclusion of the duo would not only be unfair but also bring chaos to the squad.
Mr. Boateng’s statement relates to the ongoing debates over possible call-ups of the two players ahead of Ghana’s campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking to Accra-based Sporty FM, the retired midfielder insisted Callum Hudson-Odoi and Eddie Nketiah should not be allowed near the team.
“I feel like those players should not be invited, it is not fair for the rest of the players, they will not add nothing, they should not call them, is not fair because look football is a teamwork.
“Bringing them will create a lot of chaos in the national team and a lot of troubles,” the former Getafe player said further.
Derrick Boateng, who was an integral member of the Black Stars during his playing days, featured at the 2006 World Cup in Germany and the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
