Five persons lost their lives while several others sustained injuries in a tragic road accident at Ayensudo Meyinda on the Cape Coast – Takoradi Highway on Saturday, December 20, 2025.
The accident occurred when a Toyota Hiace bus veered off the road after colliding with a DAF truck.
The impact left passengers trapped in the mangled vehicle, resulting in five fatalities on the spot and injuries to others.
In a statement, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), said, it received a distress call was received at 0926 hours, and responded with it’s rescue team from the Komenda Fire Station.
According to the GNFS, the team to rush to the scene and firefighters secured the area and carefully extricated the deceased victims.
Meanwhile, the injured persons were swiftly conveyed by the National Ambulance Service to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital for treatment.
The GNFS team worked in close coordination with the Ghana Police Service to manage the situation, “clear debris from the roadway, and restore traffic flow.”
