The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Maame Efua Houadjeto, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with U.S. Virgin Islands Governor Albert Bryan Jr.
The MoU is set to establish a strategic cooperation framework between Ghana and the U.S. Virgin Islands in tourism development, cultural exchange, trade facilitation, and investment promotion.

The agreement was signed at the USVI-Africa Mini Summit at the Westin Beach Resort and Spa, Frenchman’s Reef, in St. Thomas, symbolizing strengthened people-to-people connections and new pathways for sustainable economic growth between Africa and the diaspora.
Governor Bryan emphasized the MoU’s focus on connection, stating, “This memorandum is about more than travel.

It is about connection; our shared history across the Atlantic now becomes a bridge for opportunity, collaboration, and prosperity,” he stated.
The Authority aims to build international partnerships that elevate Ghana’s global presence, strengthen diaspora ties, and unlock opportunities for tourism, trade, and investment, positioning Ghana as the gateway to Africa and a bridge between heritage and opportunity.
