The African Union (AU) has named former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to lead its Election Observation Mission (AUEOM) to the Republic of Congo for the country’s upcoming Presidential election slated for March 15.
He is expected to head the AU mission to monitor the electoral process in the neighbouring country.
“The African Union (AU) has appointed Ghana’s former President, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to lead its Elections Observation Mission in the Republic of Congo next week.”
The African Union Election Observation Mission (AUEOM) will comprise members of the AU Permanent Representatives Committee (PRC), Pan African Parliament (PAP), African Governance Platform, election management bodies, independent election experts, civil society organisations, and representatives of women’s and youth groups.
