President John Dramani Mahama has commissioned the Sahara LPG Vessel, marking a significant milestone in Ghana’s energy infrastructure development and cleaner energy transition.
The vessel, MT Asharami Ghana, was commissioned in South Korea and is expected to enhance LPG transport capacity and strengthen access to reliable and cleaner energy across West Africa and the African continent.
Describing the occasion as more than ceremonial, President Mahama emphasized that energy access and the shift toward cleaner energy remain key challenges, with LPG playing a critical role in this transition.
He further highlighted the importance of collaboration, noting that the project reflects strategic partnerships and forward-looking investments aimed at improving energy security for Ghana and the region.
