A violent clash between Broadekwano and Asisiriwa communities in the Bosomtwe District has resulted in the deaths of two young men and a vehicle being set ablaze.
The incident, which occured on April 7, 2026, has heightened tensions, prompting police deployment to the area to prevent further attacks.
Speaking to Angel TV’s Bismark Mensah, Asisiriwa Assembly Member, Prince Boateng explained that a dispute between a young man from Asisiriwa and one from Broadekwano sparked the violence.
“Youth from Broadekwano launched attacks on Asisiriwa youth, destroying and looting property on the streets,” Mr. Boateng said.
According to him, the Asisiriwa youth claimed self-defense, saying the Broadekwano attackers were targeting anyone on the streets.
“Two of the attackers were caught and lynched by Asisiriwa youth,” he added.
A commercial sprinter bus, owned by an Asisiriwa resident, was also burned to ashes after its driver sent passengers to Broadekwano.
The police are investigating the incident.
