The Ghana Education Service (GES) has reminded teachers participating in the ongoing promotion exercise that the process is transparent and merit-based, warning candidates against paying money to individuals who promise to secure them automatic promotion.
According to the Service, all candidates who meet the advertised eligibility criteria have an equal opportunity to participate in the examination.
The statement, signed by its Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, encouraged candidates to approach the examination with confidence, dedication and a positive attitude while cautioning them against engaging with individuals who promise to secure their promotion in exchange for money.
GES stressed that no payment or financial inducement is required or would guarantee promotion, emphasising that the exercise is strictly based on merit.
“Management has received reports that some unscrupulous individuals are fraudulently demanding money from candidates under the pretext of securing them automatic promotion.
“Management wishes to state categorically that no payment or financial inducement is required or will guarantee promotion. The process is transparent and purely merit-based. Therefore, candidates should not pay monies to anyone,” it cautioned.
The Service also urged candidates who encounter individuals soliciting money or have information about such fraudulent activities to report the matter to the police.
Management further wishes all staff who satisfied the eligibility criteria advertised by the Service and are participating in the ongoing promotion examination the very best of luck.
The GES caution comes amid reports of individuals fraudulently demanding money from candidates under the pretext of securing them automatic promotion.
