Lawyers for musician, Samuel Adu Frimpong popularly called Medikal, have withdrawn their services following the artiste’s change of plea.
It is reported that the Counsel for Medikal, Mr Emmanuel Yeboah Gyan, decided to withdraw his services after the artiste requested and changed his plea from ‘Not Guilty’ to ‘Guilty’ without prior notice to his lawyers.
According to Angel News’ Ama Brako Ampofo, the court was expected to rule on a petition submitted by Medikal’s lawyers Monday, February 20, 2022, regarding the release of his Ruger nine-millimeter pistol.
However, when the case was called, the artiste put up his hand and requested to change his earlier plea of ‘not guilty’.
After the charges were read out to him the ‘La Hustle’ hitmaker pleaded guilty to the charges and was, therefore, convicted on his own plea by the court presided over by Emmanuel Essandoh..
He had previously pleaded ‘not guilty’ to the charges of displaying arms and ammunition when videos of him popped up on social media.
Shortly after the case was recalled, Counsel for Medikal, Mr Emmanuel Yeboah Gyan who held Bobby Banson’s brief, withdrew their services to the musician.
