Five different youth groups in the Offinso Kayera area have declared that the kingmakers of the community enstool the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Dr Bryan Acheampong, as traditional chief of Kayera.
In a document shared following a meeting of the groups on Sunday, April 14, 2024, the youth groups urged the traditional authorities and kingmakers of the area to see the good works of Dr Bryan Acheampong as a development agent and make him a chief to bring more development into Offinso Kayera.
According to them, Dr Bryan Acheampong who currently serves in Ghana’s Parliament as the representative of the people in Abetifi Constituency in the Eastern Region, is a royal from the Ayensua Kokoo Asoma Abusua royal gate and he is deserving of chieftaincy title.
The youth groups cited Dr Bryan Acheampong as one of the chief mourners of the late Nana Karikari Wiafi-Ababio, and averres that his mother’s people in Offinso Kayera recognise his immense importance to the area.
They wrote: “Hon Bryan Acheampong has been a phenomenal development agent wherever he finds himself and he ought to have been an important and integral part of the Offinso kayera traditional area.”
The youth groups called for the people of Offinso kayera to unite behind Dr Bryan Acheampong, and stressed the importance of having him as their development chief.
