Former Member of Parliament and aspiring candidate for the Ablekuma North constituency, Nana Akua Owusu Afriyieh has expressed confidence in her bid to reclaim the parliamentary seat.
Speaking during an interview with Angel TV on December 2, 2024, at the Darkuman Police Station, where the constituency special voting was held, Afriyie attributed her comeback to her dedication and track record of service.
“My hard work stems from my determination and ability to achieve great results. I maintain a positive approach to work, remain selfless, and prioritize the well-being of others” she said, reflecting on the efforts that have earned her a second chance to contest the seat.
Afriyie previously lost the primaries to Sheila Bartels, the current incumbent MP. However, she has now been re-elected as the parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) limiting Bartels to a single term.
When asked about the key to her competence and determination, Akua Afriyie credited her achievements in initiating major road construction projects, advancing infrastructure development, and implementing policies that have significantly benefited her constituents.
Concluding her interview, she humbly solicited for the support and votes of the people of Ablekuma North, pledging to deliver unprecedented development if elected.
“I promise to work tirelessly to ensure the progress and prosperity of our constituency,” she assured.
With a renewed mandate, Akua Afriyie plans to harness her experience and vision to address community needs and drive sustainable development in Ablekuma North.
As the election approaches, she remains confident that her dedication, service, and loyalty will earn her the trust of her constituents for another term.
