Detective Sergeant Confidence Fiagadzi of the Ghana Police Service has been adjudged as the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Officer of the Year.
He was honoured at the 2025 Ghana Governance and Leadership Awards, held on Saturday, October 25, at the Airport View Hotel in Accra.
The award was presented under the theme “Governance and Leadership,” which emphasizes the importance of ethical leadership in nation-building.

This accolade highlights Detective Sergeant Fiagadzi’s remarkable integrity, distinguished investigative achievements, and steadfast commitment to justice and public service.
Receiving the award, he expressed appreciation for the honour and dedicated it to his fellow officers and the broader Ghana Police Service.
“This honor belongs to the Inspector General of Police, the Director General of CID, and every officer who serves with honesty, courage, and compassion. Together, we must continue to build a Ghana where justice is fair to all, not selective,” said Detective Sergeant Fiagadzi in his acceptance speech.
The multiple award-winning officer’s latest recognition exemplifies his professional journey, principled leadership, and excellence in law enforcement. Rooted in faith, discipline, and service to others, his story serves as motivation for emerging officers.
About Detective Sergeant Fiagadzi
Born and raised in Nkwanta in the Oti Region, Fiagadzi studied at the Kpando Technical Institute, where he distinguished himself as a student leader. He joined the Ghana Police Service in 2012.
He underwent training at the Kumasi Police Training Depot and was subsequently assigned to the Formed Police Unit (FPU) in Tesano. His dedication and competence earned him a role in the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in South Sudan, where he served Ghana with honour.
Over the years, Fiagadzi has received numerous national and institutional awards recognizing his integrity and leadership. In 2021, he was honoured as Integrity Personality of the Year by the Transparency Ghana Integrity Initiative during the U.N. Anti-Corruption Day event.
His continued exemplary service has earned him further accolades, including Legacy Builder of the Year and Rising Star of the Year in 2025.
His recent recognition as Outstanding CID of the Year further affirms his status as one of the Ghana Police Service’s most esteemed officers.
Outside his policing role, Fiagadzi is pursuing a degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Pentecost University.
He currently serves as SRC Vice-President (2024/2025) and was recently awarded the Church of Pentecost Chairman’s Award for outstanding leadership and service.
Detective Sergeant Fiagadzi is a responsible family man, married with three children.
