The Court of Appeal has acquitted and discharged the former Assembly Member at Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central Region, William Baah, who was found guilty on the charge of abetment of murder of Major Adam Mahama.
The Court, presided over by Justice Christopher Archer in a unanimous decision on Thursday, November 20, 2025, stated that, the trial judge misdirected the jury.
“The misdirection of the high court judge was grave. The jury would not have returned a verdict of guilt if they had been properly directed,” the court held.
Specifically, the court held that the court erred when it relied on the cautioned statements of two of the accused persons incriminating the assemblyman.
In addition to this, the court held that the statement of two of the accused persons, which the court relied on were full of inconsistencies and suspicions.
The appellant was represented by George Benard Shaw, Angel News Court Correspondant Ama Brako Ampofo, reported.
