Former Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has emerged as the overwhelming favorite in a social media poll conducted by Angel FM/TV ahead of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer election.
The much-anticipated exercise is scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026.
The poll, which opened at 9:00 a.m. and closed at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30, showed Mr. Agyapong commanding 77 percent of the votes.
Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia followed with 20 percent, while Dr. Bryan Acheampong secured 3 percent.
Former Educational Minister, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum and Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong recorded no vote in the poll.
The NPP’s election committee has announced that more than 21,000 delegates are expected to cast their ballots across the country.
Voting will begin at 7:00 a.m. and close at 2:00 p.m., after which counting, sorting, and declaration of results will take place.
The outcome of Saturday’s election will determine who leads the opposition party into the 2028 general elections.
