Former Member of Parliament(MP) for Akim Abuakwa South, Samuel Atta Akyea has urged that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates to unite with purpose and stand against the National Democratic Congress(NDC).
Speaking at the election grounds, on Saturday, January 31, 2026, he stated that the aim of an authentic party member is to unite and support the candidate who wins the flagbearership.
“If your candidate don’t win you need to support the one who won, so that in that unity of purpose we will be able to give NDC one term, that is the aim of anybody who thinks seriously that he is an authentic NPP person,” he pointed out.
According to him, you cannot claim to support the NPP while enjoying the disunity within the party, regardless of the pain you feel, the comments made, or the level of insult received, your stance should be consistent.
He added that it would be difficult for any candidate to feel cheated, considering the security provided by the IGP and the discipline enforced in the Abuakwa South Constituency.
“Look at the security the IGP has provided; everything here is very disciplined.
Furthermore, all the candidates have their agents present. In the final analysis, if you are not successful, it will be very difficult for you to claim that you were cheated,” he stated.
