Prophet Bernard El-Bernard Nelson-Eshun, founder and leader of Spiritlife Revival Ministries – The Oracles’ Place, has announced a temporal break from preaching following the failure of a political prophecy he made ahead of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer contest.
Speaking before his congregation, the prophet addressed the backlash that followed his prediction that Kennedy Agyapong would win the NPP flagbearer elections.
The prophecy did not materialise, sparking criticism and disappointment among some church members and the wider public.
“At this point, I don’t need encouragement from anyone, and I can’t force anyone to stay in the church,” he told the congregation.
He added that anyone who feels the need to leave the church because of the failed prophecy is “free to quit.”
Prophet El-Bernard further announced that he would not preach from the pulpit for a period of one year, effective immediately.
However, he clarified that he would continue to attend church services and remain present every Sunday, though not in a preaching capacity.
“Regardless, I’ll be around every Sunday, but not behind the pulpit,” he stated, noting that there were many issues surrounding the situation that he would address at a later time when he deems it appropriate.
