Flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has departed Accra for the United Kingdom to participate in a high-profile symposium at the University of Oxford.
He left the shores of Ghana on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, announcing his travel plans through his official social media platforms.
“I left Accra this evening for the United Kingdom to attend a symposium at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford to celebrate the career of Professor Paul Collier a globally renowned economist.”
The former Vice President noted that beyond the symposium, he would take part in other engagements while at Oxford before returning home.
“While at Oxford, I shall participate in other activities and return to Ghana at the weekend, God willing,” he said.
Dr. Bawumia is expected back in Accra between Friday, February 6, and Sunday, February 8, 2026, following the conclusion of his visit.
